Every morning before the sun rose, Rahim Uddin carried heavy water containers across his village in southern Bangladesh. The nearest water source was a shallow pond, shared with animals and often polluted—especially during the monsoon season. Collecting water took hours each day, time Rahim should have spent working to support his family.
When illness spread through his household, Rahim worried most about his children. Unsafe water meant frequent sickness, lost wages, and mounting medical costs.
That changed when Al Manahil Welfare Foundation constructed a water well near his home.
Today, Rahim collects clean, safe water just minutes away. His children are healthier and attend school regularly. With the time saved, Rahim has expanded his daily work and earns a more stable income. The well has become a lifeline for the entire village—reducing disease, restoring dignity, and strengthening the community.
